Stuff you can definitely get rid of goes in box three: books you should never have bought, vases you got from the street, a third unused container of paprika.
Box two is for stuff you hope to keep but which may be better to disperse: books you keep thinking you’ll read, a mug that somehow makes the coffee taste better, a handwritten note from someone you know won’t write again.
In box one goes the Yale edition of Hamlet (blue cloth cover), a french press, and the glass toothpick holder dad bought because he liked its elephant shape, as do you.
