What makes a space sacred? Is a museum sacred? A church unabandoned? Your enemies mosque? Their synagogue?
Ever sat amidst thousands of empty chairs, all set up for the next day’s commencement? You can feel the calm and power of anticipation.
A friend once said, “Life is beautiful and it is all we have.”
True.
And yet, is it not true, or true also, that all we have together, outside the endless workings of our interior buzz, is space we share? Where we hope they will offer us their buzz? Maybe hear ours?
Space made beautiful is what? Lush and safe?
Well-cobbled grace?
