Lonely Measure
I sometimes think men are lonelier than women.
At best, my evidence would be anecdotal, that out buying groceries late in the evening there are more women in the store than women. Or, anyway, this is this observation (made in a half dozen cities over several decades) that led me to the thought in the first place.
Even if the grocery store thing could be proved to be true, it would not, of course, say anything about who is more lonely, or who feels more lonely, which is what interests me.
But how would you measure this? And would you reduce or add to the affliction by the measurement?
