Dear Readers,
“What do you need to do,” as Kirk asked me earlier, “to keep the world a place of promise?”
A small loaf of sesame spelt from the Noordermarkt’s best baker goes so well with black pepper goat cheese that this combo now forms a Saturday addiction, though the first market of March added a raisin nut bread (needs no more than hummus to make magic, FYI) and--why not?--a chocolate croissant.
Today, Kirk, I bought too much bread.
I wish more of you were here. There is bread to break, to share.
Today, the apocalyptic imagery from Ukraine started to buffer in on my screen, as expected, as predicted.
Desolated grandparents in exodus . . . civilians under fire from powerful, profitable, weaponry . . . cities lost to blitzkrieg.
And April may yet be the crulest month.
Stay safe, risk hope, foster promise.
